According to the Associated Press, most Americans (90%) believe that adultery is wrong, yet internet pornography use, a non-relational form of adultery, increases each year. Christians are not immune to this, as 47% of Christians say pornography is a major problem at home, and 37% of pastors say they personally struggle. And it’s not just men—one out of six women struggle with a pornography addiction too, and fully one-third of visitors to adult websites are women.
Pornography is not only spiritually destructive to an individual and devastating to a marriage, but can and does lead to infidelity, which is the cause of 17 percent of divorces in the United States (AP).
The enemy is using sexual temptation to destroy families across the country! And the culture is helping to plant those seeds early, as 80% of 15-17 year olds are having hard-core experiences, and 90% of 8-16 year olds have viewed pornography online, most while doing homework.
Statistics show more than 72,000 sexually explicit sites on the web and an estimated 266 new porn sites being added each day. These sites alone generate revenue of $1 billion dollars each year, according to the Harding Institute.
And it is estimated that $2.5 billion in annual US revenue is related to internet porn.
L.I.F.E. Ministries uses the internet, our primary communication method, to offer hope and tools to combat this wide-spread (and growing) pandemic. Each year, our staff and volunteers, based in homes and offices across several states, operate this ministry on about $80,000.
L.I.F.E. Ministries restores addicts and recovers marriages one addict at a time, helping hundreds each year on an $80,000 budget. Imagine what this ministry can do with $150,000 in 2010.
What if we don’t reach that man in Seattle next year that is viewing porn at work before he loses his job and marriage? What if that devastated spouse doesn’t find support from others?
Each year, internet porn gains $1 billion in revenue. Help L.I.F.E. next year by donating $100 (or a comfortable amount) today – let’s restore more lives and marriages in 2010!

Beginning in 2010, L.I.F.E. will release the first of four new translations of the Men’s L.I.F.E. Guide, with the Spanish version leading the way. This global initiative will allow L.I.F.E. to reach over half of the world’s population with Men’s, Women’s and Spouses workbook materials. To further facilitate this vision, we will be taking our Training and Certification Program on-line, to better equip the international community for ministry in the area of sexual addiction. L.I.F.E. Ministries is now uniquely positioned to bring biblically sound and proven sexual addiction recovery to the world.
While our mission will always be to encourage, empower, and equip God’s people to live everyday in sexual integrity, this future vision equips us to join together globally as we battle sexual addiction, and to live in freedom everyday. How is God calling you to be a part of this army?
May God richly bless all your efforts to glorify His name!

Scripture: Numbers 13:21-33Verse: Numbers 13:30 “Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, ‘We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.’” NIV
President George W. Bush was often photographed wearing cowboy boots and a Texan wide brim hat. Before George Bush, we had a real cowboy as our President. Theodore Roosevelt owned and worked a cattle ranch in South Dakota in the 1880’s. He embraced the rugged individualism of the West and brought many of the terms with him when he returned to national politics.

Last year, L.I.F.E. Ministries conducted a test-run of monthly telephone conferences designed to help facilitators of L.I.F.E. sexual addiction recovery support groups. Glen W., a seasoned facilitator in Orlando, hosted the men’s facilitator training calls. Melissa Haas, author of the L.I.F.E. Guide for Spouses, hosted the spouse’s facilitator training calls.
This program leads participants through a monthly lesson, and then the call opens up for a question-answer session. Many participants have found this free resource extremely valuable, used it as a support in their lives, and find it a way to stay connected with L.I.F.E. Headquarters.
L.I.F.E. Ministries is a Christ-centered support group ministry whose mission is to encourage, empower, and equip God’s people to live everyday in sexual integrity. L.I.F.E. continues to be on the frontline in helping those struggling with sexual addiction take back their lives—one person and one life at a time through their L.I.F.E. Guide workbook resources and L.I.F.E. support groups in churches across the country. L.I.F.E. is now moving toward the recruiting and training of warriors, and to coordinating the attack on sexual sin and bondage.

We revisited the original vision of L.I.F.E. when Johna Hale, our Executive Director, stood with the Lord in the Garden of Gethsemane and as far as she could see, people of all races came marching forward in an army. The Lord told her that this is the army that He is calling out to fight the war against sexual addiction within the Christian community.
I shared my inspiration from Him for the methods and ways of raising this army. And that L.I.F.E. Ministries no longer exists only to encourage, empower, and equip; L.I.F.E. is now moving toward the recruiting and training of warriors, and coordinating the attack on sexual sin and bondage.
Preparing the battlefield with prayer is the next step and I want to thank those that began and continue to pray since the call for prayer last November.
For those wanting to participate, we hope that you will consider prayer at 9:00 am EST or 9 pm EST. Understanding that lives are busy, to remind yourself, you can place a sticky note in your day planner or create a reminder in your calendar software of choice.
Suggested prayer (revised since November): Heavenly Father, thank you for the love that you show me each day. I know that there are many out there clouded in shame. Please reveal your grace to them through channels in their lives. Help them to feel the comfort only You can provide while they seek help. Father, L.I.F.E. group facilitators sacrifice their time to help others, may their seeds yield 100 fold. I pray that they feel the rewards you have in store for them.
