In today’s world, there are so many ways to connect and stay in touch with others. Many still use the telephone, and down here in Louisiana, lots of people prefer to “have lunch”. Teens and young adults would rather “text” their friends than use the phone.
I am writing this month to discuss methods of staying connected through technology, specifically the internet.

Nehemiah Principle Five
When Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite official heard of it, [Nehemiah arrival] they were deeply disturbed that a man had come to seek the well-being of the children of Israel.- Nehemiah 2: 10

Accountability assumes that the enemy wants to defeat us, especially when we start trying to do the right thing.

What did Nehemiah do?Nehemiah had yet to do anything in Israel. He had only arrived, and this act troubled the enemies of Israel. They knew why he was there. Like Nehemiah, sometimes all we have to do is show up… As some have said, we must “show up in the show up place.” In order to begin our journey we must arrive at the decision that our lives, as we understood them needed to change.

Devotional: Keeping it Simple(Corresponds with Principle 4, Assignment 2)
SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY – Colossians 3:12-25
VERSE OF THE DAY – Colossians 3:19 - Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them. NKJV
Men best follow simple directions. If you are unsure of this, ask any woman. In today’s reading, Paul keeps it simple for us. He is giving very clear and concise directions for Christians in various life stations. He gives quick directions to wives, husbands, children, employees and employers. To husbands he says, “Love your wives.” Paul could have said much more, he could have said for us to be supportive, be faithful, be honest, be strong, be sensitive and many other attributes of a good husband, but he didn’t. Paul kept it simple for us. “Love your wives.” When we love our wives, we will show that love by doing all the right things.
